WI: OJ Trial reversed

What if the OJ Simpson Trial were reversed?

In which I mean Nicole Brown "allegedly" murdering OJ because of his abuse/stalking.

Johnnie Cochrane of course wouldn't be involved, but would the rest of the dream team? The case will still have extensive media coverage, but can race still find its way in?

Would a plea bargain (maybe manslaughter) be sought? Or will it go to court, and if it's in court will Nicole be found guilty?

This close to the LA Riots of '94 you KNOW that race would be involved. There would be people declaring that this was another example of white oppression this time against a successful black athlete. I am afraid you would have as much if not more of a media circus then the original OJ trials.

Wow, this would have been crazy. I guess it would depend on how much of the domestic abuse aspect came out? If it was not known, there'd be a lot of misogynistic hate directed towards Nicole, and if she were acquitted, a lot of accusations of racial bias in the trial, which would continue the feelings from Rodney King and '92.

If, however, it became known that the murder was a last desperate act of defense against an abuser, Nicole would be given a lot more sympathy. The racial angle could still play in, though, if the defense went the route of caricaturing OJ as a stereotypical "black thug", which would make for a really messy clash in the media and American discourse on male violence vs. white privilege. Yikes.
