WI Octavian had a relationship with Cleopatra?

It would hurt his credibility pretty badly. He had built a lot of his propaganda on the idea that sleeping with Cleopatra was a bad, unmanly, un-Roman thing to do.

Of course we need to keep in mind that what Cleo had to offer was a partnership with an intelligent, independent-minded woman who was supposed to be a great conversationalist and inventive entertainer. After reading Suetonius, I don't think Octavian swings that way.

Is it possible anyway? I mean that when Cleopatra met Julius Caesar Octavian was just a boy... And when Caesar was assassinated Octavian was roughly 18 yo and had just begun his military training in Apollonia... Besides Cleopatra was taken by Mark Anthony by that time...

I think the POD would be after Mark Anthony's defeat. Tradition has it that Cleopatra tried to seduce Octavian the way she had Anthony. It is not entirely implausible when you consider her personality and the way she appealed to men, but I can't see it working on Octavian. He's not the type even if there hadn't been all the propaganda about Cleo the man-eating nymphomaniac..
