WI: No Wilson Stroke

WI Wilson didn't stroke out?

Would he/could he have run and won a third term?

How would things have turned out differently?

It seems unlikely. Even though the two-term limit was not yet law at that time, there was a strong tradition to its effect. Without a tremendous stressor, such as the defense of western democracy of which FDR took advantage, I can't see Wilson convincing the country to give him that third term.

No difference except he doesn't get an excuse.

Agreed. He was already losing the Leaqgue of Nations fight, even before the stroke. That's why he was on the stump in the first place.

If nominated in 1920 (most unlikely), as a Southerner by birth he may hold on to Tennessee. Otherwise, I doubt if a single state will change columns.
