WI there was no Washington Naval Treaty? OTL, the United States, the British Empire, Italy, and the Empire of Japan, signed the Washington Naval
Treaty in 1922, cancelling the USS Washington, (BB-47), consigning the Connecticut class pre-dreadnaughts, to the scrap heap, and cancelled the
South Dakota Class of 1920, (not to be confused with the South Dakota Class of 1939), which was built to treaty specifications. Without the Washington Naval Treaty, there wouldn't have been any limits to the weights
of battleships. There might have also been a cold war between the United States, Britain, and France over their use of American troops during the Bolshevik Revolution.
