WI: No Soft Drinks?

Dentists would be happy, since in addition to the sugar content, the carbonation strips the enamel from the teeth. Soft drinks are also linked to kidney stones.
Dentists would be out a ton of money. Mixed feelings, more likely.

There's all sorts of things that could fill the gap if soda and the like never takes off. Take any refreshing drink that's obscure or regional today, and it could be huge in this world. I could even imagine things like unsweetened yogurt drinks being more common (outside of the places they already are) in a world where soda hasn't taught us to accompany all foods with pure sugar.
