I am not inspired to play electric guitar, and instead, actually do some studying while at university.

Damn.

Heavy Metal would still happen as OTL because of Black Sabbath. Maybe Jimmy Page works with various musicians. Robert Plant is good enough to be a part of another band. John Paul Jones may become a producer and/or session musician while John Bonham joins another band. No idea whether he lives to this day or not.

...and two dozen others. John Mayall, who mentored Page, Clapton, & Beck was one of several who were there before it was.

Page was the last lead man for the Yardbirds & was searching for something to do after he finished that contract. Had he not met Plant and Jones any number of others would have plugged in with him.

Dead on. They were all well known on the 1967 rock club circut.

Just for nostalgia here are a few links to some moldy oldies. Page with a crew cut...

This next shows just how much difference the Led Zepplin line up made behind page. The singer is Keith Reif, who arraigned the lyrics of Dazed and Confused, which Plant made his own.

..and some kid called Clapson or Claxton or something playing with Mayalls Blues Breakers in 1966.

Plant - Another band with success, not as big a success as Led Zep, but still big or becoming one of those singers that isn´t famous but people start recognising him on youtube and saying stuff like: "How did this guy go unnoticed???"

Page - Probably starts another band after The Yardbirds. Maybe with Steve Marriott? Imo that band wouldve been bigger than Humble Pie but Peter Framptons career would not be as successful and he gets stuck in the teen idol image as he got with The Herd

Jones - Session bass player, keyboardist and producer in the future. Can see him working with Jimmy Page maybe.

Bonham - Probably alive. Forms / joins a lot of different bands, bit like Carmice Appice.

@Elmore_James_Loves_Me Do you recall that red box at the bottom of all of these OLD threads you have been reviving from the dead where you ticked that box? They are there for a reason. Please stop this searching through for old, dead threads to add comments and responses to long-departed posters.

Well, we wouldn't have STAIRWAY TO GILLIGAN'S ISLAND.

Wait a minute, we don't anyway - Led Zeppelin uses other's music but you don't use theirs...
