WI: No Habsburg dynasy?

Well, there's a difference between 'Nothing theoretically stops it." and actually having the successes the Habsburgs enjoyed.

They did a pretty good job producing male issue and marrying into families that didn't.

Its not impossible someone else would do as well, but its far from certain.

Nothing guarantees success, but I assumed that being able to do so, meant that they were in a position to do so, no dynasty would have hesitated at that point.

Eventually not good enough with both the war of the Spanish succession and the war of the Austrian succession. Though the were good at finding the right heiresses.

I agree that it isn't certain, but (and that is what I meant) any dynasty in the right position will seize an opportunity, if it presents itself.

Definitely. And the HRE is likely to present opportunities for an ambitious dynasty somewhere - Bohemia and the Low Countries (if available as a bundle) are likely but not a given in any scenario, IMO, just becauase they're so valuable.
