WI:No European Imperialism in Maritime South East Asia

If we prevent the Spanish colonization in the Philippines and the future colonizations in Maritime South East Asia..

These are the given things I know
-Luzon and Palawan will remain under Bruneian Domination due to them under the influence of the House of Bolkiah
--So the POD for them is to make them resist Nakhoda Ragam Bolkiah or Butterfly Nakhoda Ragam Bolkiah

Would they settle them with people from Borneo and would the Bolkiah Empire crumble?

How will the rest of the Philippines and the East Indies fare without the european imperialism in South East Asia?

This is a huge PoD and needs very big juju.

The East Indies were the supreme goal of European imperialists.

Reaching and exploiting the Indies was the entire reason for the Portuguese voyages to the east. Columbus found the New World while seeking the Indies, and that serendipity diverted Spain, and to a lesser degree, France, England, and the Netherlands, but the East Indies remained the crown jewel of empire.

The PoD requires no Portuguese colonization in Malaya and the Sundas, and no Dutch colonization.

Maybe the PoD excludes Malaya, as being on the mainland; but it's really hard to see how Europeans would colonize only Malaya, and not the many islands around it, lush with valuable spices.

One might add that the absence of this colonization would have massive effects on European history - most of the wealth of Portugal, and later the Netherlands, came from the spice trade with the Indies. Africa is affected too - the Dutch colony in South Africa was founded to support operations in the East. So no Cape Colony.

No Christian missionaries in Japan - another impact.

The POD includes having the portuguese not being able to conquer Malaya since Malaya culturally belongs to Maritime South East Asia.

Well, either a Chinese Warlord from mainland china decided to create a maritime empire in the south east Asia. Or Maybe the Sultanate of Malacca and Brunei hates each other to the point that one can't exist without destroying the other.

Conflict = Innovation

Or maybe there is no spice in the Celebes. But that creates gianormous-butterflies.

Actually, the clan of Sultanate of Malacca is related to the Dynasty of Tondo but does not have any claim and if any scions of the Tondo Dynasty are there they might be hiding in the Mountains perhaps Sulu might recover from its loss of Palawan.
