WI: No "Era of Good Feelings?"

What if the period after the War of 1812 where all political divission disappeared never happened?
 
In that case the Federalist Party will have to reinvent itself drastically. By the 1810s the Federalists were little more than a regional party in New England and a very reactionary one at that, threatening secession and opposing westward expansion for fear of their region losing influence. The only way I see this happening is if Alexander Hamilton survives and takes the helm or if John Quincy Adams doesn't leave the party.
