WI no Christmas

The POD is not no Christianity. Its that the western Christians decided not to bother with trying to co-opt the pagan winter solstice celebrations, instead either suppressing or ignoring them. The focus of the early Christians on the crucifixion and resurrection is maintained and no one but a few cranks bother to even try to calculate the birth date.

The war on christmas becomes the war on Easter? Or would TTL Christians call it Passover?

I got Ninja'd :(

Another question, are there any PODs this could cause down the road? Like events tied to Christmas?

Many (most?) languages use words derived from Πάσχα / Pascha, the Greek name, and ultimately the Hebrew פֶּסַח / Pessach. The name Easter is really a Germanic thing.

You're going to need a very early POD. Once it is included in the Gospels, people are going to commemorate the event.

The nativity story is in only two Gospels, Luke and Matthew, and Matthew only describes the Annunciation and the visit of the Wise Men to Herod.

Sources agree that no one much cared about the Nativity until the 4th century AD. It just wasn't a feature of early Christianity.

There are also modern Christians whose specific religion doesn't feature it either. The Puritans in the 17th century also forwent the celebration of Christmas, it was even banned in England for a time. Talk about a war on Christmas huh? The Pilgrims also shared those feelings with their Puritan cousins here in the US. In fact, that is quite Ironic. Some of the first colonists made a point of not celebrating Christmas! The first generation of Americans (that is the first generation of independent Americans) also didn't really see Christmas as that big of a deal, thus why George Washington The Great (He really should have a title) attacked British forces during Christmas.

Well I think no Christmas to brighten up the long cold northern European winters would have a detrimental effect on people's mental health.
