WI: No Cartoon Network?

Forget about Fox Kids, has everyone else forgotten The Family Channel (you know, the predecessor of Fox Family?)

Well, given that (a) I'm British, not American, and (b) we didn't start getting satellite TV at home until I was in secondary school (mid/late 90s), I didn't even know it existed until now... :winkytongue:

*looks it up*

It looks like, by the time we got satellite TV at home, the UK version of the channel had already been rebranded as Challenge - a channel dedicated to TV game shows.

So you were referring to Fox Kids the channel and not the television block. My bad.

Well lucky for you guys because at least you're got a full channel out of it while we only had the television block on Fox. The closest thing we've had to a Fox Kids Channel in America was Fox Family where the Fox Kids shows only took about 20% of the schedule, plus the channel only lasted three years before it was sold to Disney which would rebrand it as ABC Family.

When I was little, there were only four channels in the UK* - and we were grateful for it. :winkytongue:

And the fourth one had only been around for a few years before I was born.

*Ok, five if you count S4C, but in those days it shared a channel with Channel 4, so it doesn't really count.
