WI: No Battle of Atlantic, no Battle of Britain

On the otherhand if Churchill elects to continue the war even after the British POWs are returned then Britain is seen by the world as the agressors and access to trade and loans vanishes. He also faces the very real threat of civil unrest. The Government falls the Commonwealth shatters into various factions and Hitler has a free hand in Eastern Europe. There is also a possible risk that air raids ordered by the British Mad Dog Churchill when they cause substantial civilian casualties could bring the Americans in on the Germans side. If that unlikely event were to happen then Britain would be faced with both unrestricted submarine warfare and the threat of the combined fleets of Italy, Germany, the United States as well as possible actions by the French and Japanese fleets.
This has got to be the stupidest scenario I have ever seen; that a Germany that has conquered, and is occupying, Czechoslovakia, Poland, Denmark, Norway, Belgium, The Netherlands and France would somehow be seen as a peaceful state and Britain as an aggressor is flat out ridiculous. That the government would face civil unrest for choosing to continue the fight is even more ridiculous. The America would ever have entered the war allied with Germany against Britain is flat out insane.

And became essentially an OTL Sea Lion. The CW sent a force to Greece, who's main effect was to flood German POW camps.

However the point is that they did it, that they could do it.

After being ejected from France with the loss of their heavy equipment the British then sunk the French fleet in a chilling display of ruthlessness that Hitler couldn`t ignore. They then set about successfully reisting the German efforts in the BoB and BoA, ejecting the Italians from Ethiopia and Cyrenacia and mounting a return to the continent in Greece. This are the actions of a power far to great to be ignored.

Sorry, I meant to edit that post, it came off as a bit abrupt.

What I was saying is that the British army of 1941 was great at rounding up Italians who were *usually* more interested in surrendering than fighting. The CW troops simply weren't up to going toe to toe with the Wehrmacht, even if the numbers had been equal, for a couple more years.
