Ah, I see. Sorry for getting the wrong end of the stick there. That's true, of course, although it would be equally wrong to describe the secret innovations of the Reichswehr to Russian tutelage. They fed one-another.
Well, organizationally, the Reichswehr learned mostly from itself, although German observers were present at quite a few Soviet exercises.
Interestingly enough, the Soviets adopted the Christie transmission from it's American inventor. The Soviet Union was pretty pragmatic, I gotta say.(Granted they improved greatly upon it.)
But it's been a while since I studied WW2. My only exposure is the occasional magazine article so I don't pretend to be an authority.
