WI: No Anarchy at Samarra

Despite lasting only nine years, the Anarchy at Samarra severely damaged the Abbasid Caliphate's central government, and led to rebellious and secessionist tendencies in the provinces.

What if this period hadn't happened?

Nine year is long...that means the caliph is not assasinate, meaning not fifth fitna..with those things butterfly away anything would be unrecognizable in total term, maybe more powerful caliphate means more developed Syria and Egypt, and would be strong enough resist the mongol horde...and might influence al-andalus too
