WI: No Alice Cooper

Vincent Furnier was a very sickly child. What if he tragically died young, therefore never being able to become a musician under the name Alice Cooper. What would the impact on "shock rock", Hard Rock/Heavy Metal, and even goth rock be?

All were invented in the UK and came stateside. Maybe not so much.

Vincent's band got rolling in 1966 while in High School, as _The Spiders_ and there wasn't much "shock rock, Hard Rock/Heavy Metal, and even goth rock" to be found, the niche they moved into around early 1968, when the Band was looking for their gimmick, and picked the occult for their increasingly performance art rock. Being in LA, were not much influenced by the Detroit area MC5 or _The Stooges_, or Bloodrock from Fort Worth

No Vincent, that group would have found another Frontman, and probably have some impact, but not as much as OTL

"Shock Rock" originated with by "I Put a Spell on You" by Jay Hawkins. Which was the result of getting hammered during the recording of what was intended as a traditional Blues recording, which because they were drunk, turned into that. And Alice Cooper was inspired and preceded by Arthur Brown, right down to makeup. The seeds are all there. Without Alice Cooper, you will impact KISS, and you could result in a band closer to Wicked Lester.
