WI: No 3rd May Consitution - avoiding 2nd partition

What if Stanisław August Poniatowski stayed royal to Russia and didn't reform Poland that much, basically stayed as Russian protectorate? Who is potential King and Grand Duke after Poniatowski's death? What after Catherines death? How would Poland enter Napoleonic Wars?

You mean "Poniatowski did a better job at preventing reform". Which might had been a Good Thing after all ...
You gave a very interesting POD - no 2nd and no 3rd partition as we know them.
Well, once Catherine dies it is hard to say what happens as Paul's actions seem to be based upon "think what Mum would had done and then do exactly the opposite".
Paul might think that allowing the PLC to reform its cesspool - which Mum opposed - is a splendid idea. Or maybe not ...
Maybe - once Poniatowski dies - he decides that Constantine on the Polish throne is a good idea? His 2nd son would be 21 then.
Maybe that causes a rebellion? Thus no Russian troops in Italy and Switzerland?
Lots of butterflies! Me like!

Bump?
To be honest i see Wettin candidate which nobles, Russia and Prussia could accept.
How Poland's existence affect Napoleonic Wars?

After Poniatowski's death there would be two main candidates to the throne-his nephew, also named Stanisław Poniatowski, and Romanov-likely Grand Duke Constantine. PLC would be invaded by Napoleon (without finall partitions Poles would see him as 'Corsican Devil', not as liberator.
