One of the often cited causes of the '79 revolution is the Shahs White Revolution, which broke up the large feudal estates owned by the traditional nobility (clerical), and removing them feom the public sphere. This greatly angered them, and while they used to support monarchy, this alienated them from the new Pahlavi elite. Suppose the Shah doesnt do this, and brings them into the new elite. Does the '79capital revolution still occur? Or is the left wing/socialist/communist current in Iran still strong enougb to topple the Shah? What would Iran look like today?
