WI: Nicholas II was coronated Tsar in 1888

In October 1888 the Russian Imperial Train was derailed with the royal family in the dining car. Its roof collapsed, and Alexander III held its remains on his shoulders as his family fled outside. Lets say we have a POD in which Alexander dies in this accident by being crushed by the roof. What changes might occur by having his succesor Nicholas II coronated as Tsar 6 years sooner than in OTL?

Well, I don't think it would make him any better a ruler.

I mainly wonder if Nicholas would form the alliance with France that Alexander III did in 1894 before dying. Also who was next in line to be Tsar after Nicholas II?

His brothers Georgi and Mihail. Georgi died on 1899 in OTL.

What changes might occur by having his successor Nicholas II crowned as Tsar 6 years sooner than in OTL?
I think that would mainly depend on a combination of what his mother the Dowager Empress' political views were, those of the regent or regents that ruled until he came of age, and the teachers he's going to have. Depending on which has the stronger influence or a mix of all three he could could go any number of different ways. At the very least he's certainly going to have some differences from our timeline.

Could it really make him much of a worse one?
