Australia, during the early 30s', had it's fair share of fascists in the wake of the rise of Mussolini in Italy.

One of these fascist groups was called the New Guard led by a WWI veteran named Eric Campbell. He was ardently anti-Communist, often breaking up Communist marches and he was popular with businessmen, including the operator of the Sydney Sun newspaper.

He was opposed to NSW Premier Jack Lang's policies during the Great Depression, which benefited the poor and unemployed, but had no benefits for the ruling class, some of whom were New Guard sympathizers.

Eric Campbell threatened to storm NSW Parliament House and launch a coup de'tat, with several hundred men supporting him, to depose Jack Lang on 13th May 1932 if he wasn't sacked before seven o'clock. Mr. Lang was sacked at six o'clock.

But what if Mr. Lang wasn't sacked, allowing for Campbell to launch his coup?
