WI: Napoleon, Roman Emperor

This one is a bit silly, but it might be fun ;). So, say that after conquering most of what was once the WRE, Napoleon suddenly gets very nostalgic about the Roman Empire (Blame ASB`s if needed.) and decides to crown himself Western Roman Emperor, annexing all the former Roman territories he holds directly to his Empire. How does the rest of the world react to this unexpected development?

Actually Napoleon was trying to imitate Julius Caesar in his life and campaigns, and i think that he was aiming in obtaining the Imperial title of the Holy Roman Empire.
But the Holy Roman Emperor was quicker and abolished the Empire before Napoleon could lay his hands on it...

Yeah, Napoleon was very fond of his Roman symbolism in OTL already (a lot of would-be conquerors of Europe are) so it's entirely possible that he could be a bit more blatant about it.
