WI: Napoleon repeats Austerlitz at Waterloo

Is it possible for Napoleon to do a repeat of Austerlitz at Waterloo? If so, when did the chances came? And what could've happen next?

Another Leipzig follows if he wins.He is seriously outnumbered. His opponents has like four to five times the number of his total forces. They will be smart enough not to engage him unless they outnumber him overwhelmingly.

Although we can assume Napoleon will lose, it may still have major ramifications if it is not at Waterloo. Even if let all the major players at Waterloo live (particularly Wellington) and Napoleon merely limp on to another battle (and a prompt defeat) it can change things.

Odds are the next battle will be won by German/Russian troops with a very minimal British contingent. If France is defeated by those powers, it may effect the peace. I can imagine Britain having less of a say in the peace due to this superficial (to us) change in events. Wellington's crushing victory gave Britain a huge sweep of prestige and influence in French affair. Perhaps this might not be so if a Russian general breaks the French eagle (or even better, captures Napoleon himself in a cage?).

No. For it to work it requires (a) the French army at Waterloo to be as good as the one at Austerlitz (some very complicated manoeuvres were pulled off almost perfectly); and (b) the Duke of Wellington to be as out of his depth as the Austrian and Russian commanders at Austerlitz were. Neither of these conditions was even remotely close to being met. If Napoleon had tried anything like a fake retreat in order to lure the Duke of Wellington into a premature attack Wellington would have just stood his ground and ran down the clock until the Prussians arrived.

He will still ultimately be defeated. He is vastly outnumbered. France is tired of war (Napoleon promised them peace) and even a victory at Waterloo will be pyrric. If anything the longer the war goes on the harsher the terms will be put on France when Napoleon ultimately falls.
