WI:Napoleon killed Christmas Eve 1800?

On Christmas Eve 1800, a bomb exploded near napoleons carriage in Paris. His way had been partly blocked by a seed merchants cart but the driver decided to continue going, which saved napoleons life when the bomb went off. So what if the driver stops and is held up and The First Consul is killed in the explosion?

Could this be the beginning if a larger jacobin uprising, and the first step in the collapse of the consulate? The consulate would certainly be facing a massive constitutional crisis. What could replace the consulate if it does collapse?

Well I doubt that the French armies would have conquered as much as they did. The infighting amongst the various factions would have kept the armies close to home until the conflict worked itself out.

While Napoleon did indeed blame the Jacobins (mostly because he wanted an excuse to get rid of them), were the true culpit not the Royalist, who had hoped Napoleon would be another Monck?

It would seem to end the Revolutionary Wars. It also butterflies the invasion of Russia, the breakup of the HRE, & Waterloo...

That would reduce the rise of nationalism, & possibly the Greek Revolution. Possibly also some other problems in the Balkans.
