WI Napoleon II doesn't die in 1832?

I don't know if it was probably already done, but WI Napoleon II doesn't die in 1832 from tuberculosis? Could he have some political influence or he would always be a kind of prisoner of the Austrians?

He was considered a Habsburg (and was indeed 1/3 Habsburg). He grew up an Austrian and always considered himself as one. Maybe he would have been a major player of the Habsburg court but I can't see much more.

I guess Napoleon III will have to wait until II is gone.

In OTL N. III became Emperor in 1852, after having been elected President in 1848. AFAIK his landslide victory in 1848 was not at least due to him being the legitemate Bonaparte heir.

So in this ATL the Second Empire is less likely and thus perhaps also the disastrous French-German war of 1870-71 - it would be difficult to act diplomatically that stupid one more time.

If so the unification of Germany is likely to be later and/or of a looser character. That is next likely to make WWI/II much different from what we know - we might not recognise the world by 2008.

It would be nice if he is allowed to marry some princess and keep a Bonaparte dynasty, but not in France. Well, IOTL Maria II of Portugal married a Beauharnais, why not her Bonaparte cousin?:p
