What would happen if Napoleon Bonaparte and his family, for whatever reason, decided to immigrate to the United States of America?

Maybe some opportunity could have presented itself to Letizia Bounaparte and her children after her husband their father Carlo Bounaparte died in 1785? Maybe Carlo Bounaparte could have died a little earlier instead and said opportunity came in a different way. Mabye Carlo decided to take his family to America before his death. Either way, what would fate have in store for the Bonaparte family in the New World.

I think Napoleon Bonaparte would still want to go into the army. He graduates from West Point some time around 1790 and subsequently sees action some of the Indian Wars. He becomes a high ranking general in due time, and if another war with Britain were to break out he would certainly see action. What is siblings due is beyond me. Mabye one becomes a general as well, or a pioneer or a politician. Mabye one of the sisters marries into a prominent family.

Lets not forget what butterflies this would have in Europe! The French Republic is defeated by the Coalition by at least 1800. Nationalism as we know it would never spread throughout Europe. Europe less liberal and more conservative for generations to come. No German and Italian unifications. Republics for the most part become descredited in Europe. Holy Roman Empire lasts longer. Wars of Independence in Latin America happen later. Nations such as the Republic of Venice, the Republic of Genoa continue to survive. Sweden continues to own Finland. Danish-Norwegian union survives.
