WI most of the world's product shipping was done through massive airship?

Instead of the large cargo ships of today what if giant airships like Zeppelins were the primary method to move good around the world?

Perhaps a situation where due to war or the results of pollution the oceans became unviable to be used for mass shipping.

The sea is an awful lot more resilient than the atmosphere.
If we've screwed up the sea to the point where it is uncrossable, the atmosphere is long gone (as are all humans, come to that.)

Exactly. If we were unable to cross the seas on ships with steel hulls, due to the water being too polluted, then there would not be much hope left for humanity anyway.

Pretty much impossible for any sort of bulk shipping. For specialized oversized cargos to remote area's maybe. For say shipping oil or ore not a chance.
