WI: Moriscos are enslaved

Moriscos were Muslims forced to convert to Catholicism living in Spain following the Reconquista, often practicing Islam in secrecy at risk of being caught by the Spanish Inquisition. Following the three-year Morisco Rebellion of the Alpujarras in 1571, the Spanish crown ultimately decided that they needed to expel them from mainland Iberia. The Morsicos were ultimately deported to the Ottoman Empire and Morocco. In OTL, the influential Archbishop Ribera, who convinced the king to go through with the expulsion in the first place, additionally proposed that the Moriscos should be enslaved and sent abroad to the Spanish colonies. Philip III rejected the proposal, but what if Ribera's plan went through?

Would they be able to bring Islam to the Americas or successfully revolt? The ideas of racism may also change drastically, seeing the Spanish use non-African slaves in the Americas.

Islam was brought to the Americas and it inspired the Male Revolt in Brazil.

In places like Louisiana with it's substantial Wolof Muslim population it really didn't have any bearing on revolt.

Also I don't think this would work in the U.S. because Morocco was the nation's first supporter and the sultan wouldn't at all support white Muslims being enslaved.

Not only white but also black. There was actualy an agreement between the US and Morocco about the protection of Moroccan citzens in the US.

The sundry act wasn't a protection as much as an amendment that encouraged slavers to not own moroccans.

This takes place in 1571. There is No US at this time.
The plan takes place and the Spanish have a bigger work force. If they spread them out with only a few sold in any area, they disapear into the general population. If a lot of them end up together, then there may well be some rebellions depending on the local situations. They may also flee and form Spanish speaking tribes in the hinder lands.
