WI: More TV series from Roland Emmerich Films?

In some movies, Godzilla was helping humanity by fighting other monsters. What if those other monsters were sent by evil alien conquerors, humans learn to communicate with Godzilla, who helps humans battle the aliens and their monsters? Maybe humans figure out how to produce a girlfriend for Godzilla...:D

Godzilla fightinh against other monsters in defence of humanity would be a good plotline. So would the humans learning to communicate with Godzilla.

That is spun off from the films where he has the director and co-writer credits (according to Wikipedia, and the IMDB)

Stargate has already got SG1 and Atlantis spun off from it.

So What if there was a spin off TV series for:

Independence Day?

Godzilla?

The Day After Tomorrow?

And as an extra challenge, be as good as (not necessarily as popular as, as that may be ASB) Stargate SG1 in its early seasons, in their early seasons.

If you want to speculate on the other films he has some sort of credit for, go ahead there as well.

Day After Tomorrow might work better as a mini-series than a regular weekly show. Ditto ID4. But a Godzilla series? That I think we can pull off. :D

Cool, I can work with that.

So: Godzilla comes out in 1999, is slightly more popular than OTL. Thus instead of an animated series (as in OTL), a live action series pilot goes to air in 2002. (But most definitely not on Fox!) What happens next?

I'm thinking it becomes a cult hit on Showtime, as was the case with their
remake of Outer Limits, and then goes into syndication around late '04 or early '05.

Ok, would it still be on the air as of 2008? Or would the Writers Strike (if that is not butterflied away [strikes me as unlikely as the underlying reasons behind it would still be there regardless]) cause it to 'go on hiatus'?

Would it be popular and have a large fan-base? (Would it have a Gateworld-like site for instance? [Zillaworld.com ?])

A Live Action Godzilla TV series is 'greenlit' by CBS in early 2001.

Who would be cast as the main protagonists in this series?
