WI: More successful 9/11 attacks

I would suggest alternate targets, which might not be as photogenic, but would cause substantial environmental and economic damage. One is the Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant in Paducah, Kentucky, and the other is the Honeywell Uranium Hexafluoride Processing Facility in Metropolis, Illinois. The resulting contamination would disrupt some transportation links, as well as shipping on the lower bit of the Ohio River...and the Mississippii River.

The NYSE is low down amidst the towering buildings of lower Manhattan. You would have to nose-dive to hit it directly and they would have been unable to do that. Besides, hitting the NYSE probably wouldn't have had any greater impact on the economy than the strike on the Twin Towers did.

You could just Bomb it

Seriously, this is a far better idea then trying to dive a passenger jet into it. Take a moving truck, load it up with some homemade explosives, and ram it into the front of the building.

Have you ever been there? There's not enough space for a car or truck to get above five miles per hour.

It doesn't really matter how fast you're going, its the bomb in the back that's going to do the major damage, not the hood of your rented U-haul.
