WI:Mongol Victory in the First Invasion of Japan?

The mongolian army had won many battles in Japan before they lost the Battle of Akasaka. What if the Japanese army didn't ambush the mongols in Akasaka and the mongols win the battle?

Thete would have been no impact because Japan was always impacted by cultural and social factors on mainland china.Even its earlier capital of Kyoto seemed similar to chinese imperial cities. So the mongols would have indirectly impacted the Japaneese anyhow.

I'm pretty sure the butterflying of the Ashikaga shoguns and the fact that Japan will be forced to submit to China is going to be pretty huge on Japanese culture and the subsequent development of Japan. Japan has also been invaded and essentially conquered for the first and potentially only time in its history. The Japanese Emperor (i.e. god, even if he didn't get a lot of respect from certain nobility) will be forced to name himself "king of Japan". Actually, the Emperor might end up overthrown by a vassal as a result--this could lead to a powerful shogun or other person who overthrows Mongol rule to get into the imperial clan and name himself Emperor. I have read the early Ashikaga could have done that without too much grief, so if you have a powerful leader who removes the Mongols/Yuan from power in Japan, then they could in theory become the Emperor themselves. Even though the title of Emperor is of course not worth much politically, and the most likely result is the Mongol vassal Emperor/King of Japan is forced to abdicate to a relative upon the removal of Mongol rule--although an alt-Kenmu Restoration involving the Emperor himself renouncing Mongol rule would be cool. I mean, a Go-Daigo like figure would be born right after the Mongol Invasion, and would be around Go-Daigo's age when the Yuan Dynasty would be weak enough to attempt a rebellion against it.
