WI: Michael Jackson Had Lived?

What the title says. Would he have done anything of significance? Or- as IOTL- continued his slide into obscurity?

I wonder if he would have embraced social media. In fact, did he even have a facebook or twitter account before he died (he died in 2009 so there was a possibility)?

He was...but i cant see him doing much.

Infact that tour was supposed to be his goodbye tour
It was certainly planned that way, but farewell tours have something of a habit to morph into comeback tours; were Jackson to renege on his goodbye, he wouldn’t be without company. And seeing just how big a deal Is This It was set to be, it doesn’t seem implausible that it could have reinvigorated his career.

That said, it’s entirely possible he still retires from touring— and becomes a studio-only musician…

I think his oddities would have nixed his career.

And "Goodbye" tours never end, how many has Cher done just as one example?

I agree with Kermode, I think he would stop touring after This Is It and just be a studio artist. Maybe he'd duet with Elvis on the If I can Dream album?

Before this is it when was the last time he performed?

Could he pull an Elvis for a revival? Maybe a Vegas residency?

In a alternate timeline where Michael Jackson lived, he would be a recluse in his private home, the Neverland Ranch to avoid accusations of child molestation and hounded by the paparazzi that he suffered later in his life. He would retire from touring after finishing the This Is It tour and become a studio-only artist. As a studio-only artist, he would finish up the songs compiled in Michael and Xscape and created HIStory Book II and Book III.
