WI: mexican Economy not devastated after Independence

I've recent read that the Mexican War of Independence devastated the country, and its economy did not "recover its 1805 level until 1870."

What if the country could somehow avoid those devastations?( A Portugal-Brazil style solution perhaps?) Where would their economy be now, and what would it mean for the region and world as a whole?

If you'd like, feel free to check out my TL linked below in my sig, it may answer some of these questions. ;)

If Mexico can end it's War for Independence more quickly, this can be done. I do this in my TL by preventing the Mexican Insurgents from nearly all being killed off, thus keeping the brains of this revolution intact. The war ends in 1817 (4.5 years ahead of schedule) with the Insurgents (led by Ignacio Allende) taking over from the Spanish and proceeding to fix all the fields and mines that had previously been the lifeblood of the New Spanish economy, By the 1830's Mexico is doing much better than OTL, with a stronger economy and stable government.
