WI Mary Stuart Marries Philip II

I presume this would occur after Frances II died but before Mary returned and married Darnley.

Philip would have to think long and hard for it would almost certainly mean turning England against Spain, and the Scot's nobels would have to think about being invaded by Protestant England as they had severed their ties to Rome as well by this point.

There are issues with the match which is why Mary was quite interested in Don Carlos after her widowhood.
Philip II was married to Elizabeth Valois from 1559 to 1568 - so unless you butterfly that he isn't free to marry her until long after her first husband's death.
And if she returns to Scotland as in OTL then the match becomes very difficult - the Scots Lords will oppose the match and demand far more concessions from Mary than they got when she married Francis II.
If she marries Darnley and things fall as in OTL then her scandals and insecure hold on power make her a pretty unsavoury match even if she flees not to to England but to the continent.
Philip's ability to restore her in those circumstances will be limited in my view even if he wishes to attempt it.
