WI Mary and Catherine Grey have queen Elizabeth's permission to marry.

They both were claimants to the throne as they were great grandchildren of Henry VII. So what would have happened if they married with queen Elizabeth's blessing and had sons, would their children inherit the throne ahead of the Stuarts.

But how do they get Queen Elizabeth's blessing? She was notorious for not wanting her maids of honour to marry even when they weren't related to her.

What if she married her cousins off to strong LOYAL allies, such as Thomas Howard, 4th Duke of Norfolk (before 1555 or 1558) and Robert Dudley, 1st Earl of Leicester; to get rid of fears of being ousted from the throne and adopting the first male son of theirs as her heir raising them as her own but keeping the image of virginity.

First Reaction, I did't think same sex incestuous marriages were allowed in the 16th century . . .

Second thought, brain kicks in, perhaps an heir is produced, which then becomes King or Queen supplanting the Stuarts
