WI: Margaret of Anjou Has More Children

Here's my idea, Margaret of Anjou and Henry Vi have a few children over their marriage, which stabilizes the realm somewhat and allows for less monarchical ambitions and more position grasping. Here are the royal spawn!

Henry VI (b.1421) m. Margaret of Anjou (b.1430)

1- Miscarriage (b.1446)

2- Henry, Prince of Wales (b.1448)

3- Princess Anne of England (b.1449)

4- Prince Edward of England (b.1450: d.1451)

5- Miscarriage (b.1450)

6- Prince Humphrey of England (b.1451)

7- Princess Catherine of England (b.1452)

8- Princess Isabella of England (b.1453)

9- Miscarriage (b.1453)
At this time Henry VI goes into his historical mental breakdown and comes out of it around Christmas Day 1554. The King and Queen celebrate and more children are born.

10- Prince Edmund of England (b.1455)

11- Princess Joan of England (b.1456: d.1456)

12- Miscarriage (b.1458)

13- Princess Mary of England (b.1460)

14- Princess Margaret of England (b.1463)

15- Prince John of England (b.1467)

What happens now? The royal nursery is full and both the King and Queen would be in better positions with such a gaggle of heirs.

What sort of personality change would be required on Henry VI's part? Since AFAIR he was extremely pious and had a character better suited to a monk than a king - Hell, the Tudors even toyed with the idea of having him canonized.

I think it would be more realistic for them to stop having children at the time of the historic mental breakdown. They'd still be in a much better position than the OTL with so many children. The Duke of York is not going to be heir apparent for so long. It might even do wonders for Margaret of Anjou's popularity.

At some point Henry, Prince of Wales is going to be appointed his father's Regent if his father becomes incapacitated. He's going to be too young around his father's first breakdown though. I'd say he'd been in the running to take over between the ages of 16-21.

If the need arises, Henry VI has the children to marry off in alliances with the House of York.

One possible match is between Henry, Prince of Wales and Margaret of York (born 1446). Perhaps this match could be set up around the time of the mental breakdown with a deal for Regency in place. The Duke of York could be the Regent for Henry VI until the marriage of Prince of Wales at 16, at which time the Prince of Wales takes over for his father. This sounds like an Iberian arrangement to me, i.e. the House of Aviz, and I'm not certain that it would happen.

There's also an option between the match between Edward, Earl of March the OTL EIV and Princess Anne of Lancaster.

Whilst his lack of an heir had an impact - the main issues during the late 1440s and early 1450s was the court party's reliance on Somerset and the King's treatment of York (who was owed a fortune by the crown), you add in a King who is mentally ill, the collapse of ENgland's position in France etc and the prospects of another minority with a Prince of Wales dominated by an unpopular Queen and Somerset then it doesn't necessarily make for a more stable situation.
