WI Marcus Aurelius dies in 175 AD?

In 175 AD Emperor Marcus Aurelius fell ill while fighting the Marcomanii...
Empress Faustina fearing for her husband's health she encouraged General Avidius Cassius Commander of the Syrian Legions to act as protector for her son Commodus (then aged 13)...
In OTL false news of Marcus Aurelius death leaked shortly after leading to a revolt by Cassius who seized many eastern provinces (including Egypt which was the main grain supllier of Rome...)
However Governor of Kappadocia Martius Verus remained loyal to Aurelius preventing that way the spread of the rebellion...
After 3 months Cassius was murdered by a centurion...
WI he was succesful in his rebellion? How is that altering Roman History?

How would he be successful?? If Martius Verus had declared for him instead of staying loyal???

Yes... Verus could supply him with much more Legions... And if he cut off grain supply in time (his assassination prevented that)
Rome (and the Senate) would beg for his mercy...

Was Cassius' revolt in Commodus' name or for his own sake??

If it was in Commodus' name Cassius would presumably have to make him co-emperor. If that happened I imagine it wouldn't be too long before Commodus met with an unfortunate "accident"

Emperor Cassius would probably find himself the victim of a number of generals "chancing their arm" like he did, men like Septimius Severus

Commodus was just a pretext to claim the Purple...
In my point of view had he succeded Commodus might have had a slight "accident"...

In any event we'd probably have the "Crisis of the Third Century" starting 50 years early with a succesion of army-backed emperor who don't rule for much more than a handful of years

At least Commodus's "crazy" reign would be eliminated... Cassius was much more mentally stable...

That's as maybe, but if Commodus meets with his accident soon after Cassius take over he (Commodus) would only have been 13 and his craziness wouldn't have had time to manifest itself. Also Cassius would have been portrayed by any general attempting a coup against him as having murdered the rightful emperor

Unless Cassius in a change of heart decides to play "Mr. Nice Guy" and declares himself Protector of the young Emperor Commodus... and in 180-185 hands over the power to him...
The other scenario i thought has 2 options... 1st option Commodus goes mad and he has a slight "accident" and Cassius still playing "Mr. Nice Guy" hands over Imperial powers back to the Senate....
2nd option Commodus still goes mad and Cassius arranges an "accident" for him... Cassius stops being a nice guy and claims the Purple for himself...
