What happens if Ferdinand Marco's doesnt declare Martial Law in the Philippines?
Marcos family's megalomania made martial law inevitable. Dovie Beams didn't made him resign, even strengthening his resolve in maintaining the presidency. Thus, the only way to prevent this is to make him lose inWhat happens if Ferdinand Marco's doesnt declare Martial Law in the Philippines?
Well, he's still power hungry af even without those two. He will still do Urquhartic plots in order to stay in power, which he begun by appointing the two in the first place. It could have been stopped if Ramos and Enrile did not suggest it or if Marcos loses in 1969.
Marcos can also be neutralized if we have weaker communist threat or a win of the US in Vietnam..he used the red scare to continue his power.Well, he's still power hungry af even without those two. However, with traditional politics still more or less continued, a clan will mark their name in what would be the seventies.
Edit: if they were not elected in 1965 anyways, or did have a third term due to his/her's immense popularity in all stripes of society, the latter of which is more or less impossible.
That's another one, although that wouldn't solve the communist insurgency that he will use as a bogeyman. There are also friendly and sympathetic personalities in the US who, in spite of their proposition being weakened, would want the regime to continue.Marcos can also be neutralized if we have weaker communist threat or a win of the US in Vietnam..he used the red scare to continue his power.
Another possibility is if Bush Sr. gets elected in 1980 and he we will have his friend Ramos take over sooner in the 80s, then we will have Cory after Ramos instead.
Better. What about Ferdinand E. Marcos getting killed during WWII or lost to another opponent in the 1965?
That's a dark take. I see the guy as just a normal manhe dies from Lupus(1) and Bongbong Marcos 'inherits' the presidency. Bongbong a worst person compared to his father as he enforce his rule thru bloody crackdowns against the civilian population that wants a change in leadership. More companies are nationalize to keep the country afloat, and pay-ff the debts created by this father, and also to borrow more money. Even more money is siphoned off government programs to pay-off the military to ensure their loyalty. Eventually the philippines devolved into a dictatorial presidency much-like north korea.
