WI: Man of Steel and Batman v. Superman Are Actually Good?

Before everyone starts questioning why I posted such a seemingly ridiculous topic, hear me out. Man of Steel and Batman v. Superman's poor receptions both critically and (relatively) financially have caused DC to alter the plans for their extended universe, so it's clear to me that if it was received differently, the state of the DCEU would be different today. Tell me how you think this would play out, with these altered plotlines for Man of Steel and Batman v. Superman:

* First off Man of Steel would be altered. Before I post the points on how BvS would be different, here are the points for how MoS would be different:
* Superman is not the brooding, dour figure he was in the OTL movie. Instead, he's optimistic, selfless and resilient, serving to emphasize how he's the glimmer of hope for Metropolis and to a larger extent, the world.
* To emphasize this, Superman is rendered in brighter colors then the rest of Metropolis, until the end of the film when Metropolis hails him as a hero.
* For much of the movie, Superman is shown in his younger, less experienced state. The moment that drives him to escape to the Fortress of Solitude is during his early days of crime-fighting when he accidentally kills a man while trying to save another one.
* While in exile, he creates the Fortress of Solitude and is inspired by a vision of his father Jor-El, who tells him that in order to be a true savior, he must learn to control his powers.
* When he returns, Zod has arrived in Metropolis and is in the process of subjugating it. Superman, who has grown as an individual, takes him on in a fight.
* Superman is initially reluctant to use violence, but remembers his father's words that: "Force is only unacceptable when used to cause destruction", so he uses necessary force to defeat Zod. Unfortunately, a few buildings are damaged, but Zod dies due rubble falling onto him instead of Superman killing him.
* There would be more humor in this movie.

Time for how Batman v. Superman would differ:

* Lex Luthor is portrayed by J.K Simmons in this version and instead of being a Mark Zuckerberg expy, he's a seasoned, experienced, respected weapons contractor.
* Initially, he thinks nothing of the "Superman", until he comes to the realization that the world won't need defense weapons if a super-powered alien can do the job much more easily.
* Realizing he'll be put out of business if Superman continues to be the world's savior, Luthor realizes he needs to find a way to dispose of the big blue boyscout menace.
* While throwing a party for his latest invention, Luthor invites many people, including Bruce Wayne, who LexCorp has connections with via Wayne Enterprises and Clark Kent, a growing journalist who is covering the event.
* Enter Bruce Wayne, a.ka Batman. Similarly to the OTL version, this Batman is an embittered, disillusioned, cynical shell of what he once was, but he still doesn't kill people.
* In this version, instead of using the typical "his parents" died flashback, the movie would open with a flashback of Jason Todd being brutally gunned down by the Joker and Harley Quinn.
* At the party, Luthor gets the attention of Wayne, who he lures under the guise of discussing business plans for their companies. Mid sentence, Luthor mentions the "Superman" figure, who Wayne is distrustful of, since he's dealt with individuals who seemed harmless on the surface, but had alterior motivations underneath.
* Realizing Wayne's feelings about Superman, Luthor capitalizes on this by claiming that Superman engages in shady actions when nobody else can see him and that he's fighting against greater evils to fool humanity into trusting him.
* Believing his story, Wayne tells Luthor he'll keep his eye on Superman.
* In order to "prove" his claims, Luthor manipulates video footage of Superman and plants ambiguous situations in order to make it seem believable that Superman is in fact a dangerous criminal underneath his "guise". He plants the footage in Wayne's computer system, so that the latter can witness the "atrocities".
* Wayne views the footage and becomes convinced that Superman really is a bloodthirsty alien like Luthor claimed. Believing he must fend off against him, Wayne begins trying to build technologically to bring Superman to justice.
* Meanwhile, Superman is repeatedly accosted by Batman and the latter's lack of explanation over his actions causes him to believe that Batman in turn is a dangerous nutjob vigilante out to get him.
* As the relationship between the two sours, Luthor takes advantage of this by turning the public against Superman, showing them the footage. Eventually, conditions become uneasy and rioting begins across Gotham and Metropolis.
* During the riots, Wayne's butler Alfred is critically injured and becomes paralyzed from the waist down.
* Overcome with grief, the enraged Batman has his major brawl with Superman, with the two beating the living shit out of each other and causing total mayhem.
* As the two are fighting, Batman tells Superman he will bring him to justice and shows him the video footage Luthor gave to him to emphasize that the world will finally see him for what he is. However, Luthor accidentally left in one of the unedited clips of Superman's heroic actions and Batman witnesses the true Superman. Overcome by total grief and shock, the two stop fighting, realizing they aren't bad people at all.
* In order to clear up the mayhem, Wayne has the unedited footage shown to the public and the riots calm down.
* Learning his plan has been thwarted, Luthor becomes enraged and decides he must kill both of them. Donning his warsuit full of kryptonite crystals, all hope seems lost for the duo.
* However, the two formulate a plan and end up destroying Luthor's suit and defeating him.
* Luthor is arrested and the two vow to form some sort of crime-fighting team to prevent con-artists like Luthor from becoming powerful again.
* There'd be instances of humor in this film as well, but it wouldn't be the focal point of the film, only showing up sometimes.
* There would be no Wonder Woman, Doomsday, Flash, Aqua Man or Cyborg in the film, to make the plot simpler, more compact and focused.

So, how do you think the revised plotlines would affect the DCEU?

One thing I would like to know.

WHY DIDN'T YOU WRITE THE SCRIPTS IOTL?

Because DC's comic book movies are being written by people who clearly think that comic books are stupid, and work their ass off to make them more "serious" and "mature". If they actually read more comics, then they'd know that DC does that kind of butchering just fine on its own.

So, how successful do you think these versions would be guys? Commercially and critically? How do you feel this would affect the DCEU? Maybe Matthew Vaughn directs BvS ITTL and Vaughn/Zack Stentz (One of the writers of X-Men: First Class) write it?

Make Ben Afleck the consistency Czar of the DCEU.

The reason Marvels all work so well together, is because they have One Man be the last word for the whole vision. DC, not so much. Afleck is a comic book guy, he would have understood the subtleties of the grand plan, and we could of had these have a more Batman Begins feel. We would have had Christan Bale as the Batman for at least three more movies I feel too, as he had that character down really well.

Perhaps Afleck would come in as Lex himself. I mean it is easier to control the whole program when you are the Biggest Baddie (save for Darkseid).

0/10 not enough "WHY DO YOU SAY THAT NAME?":p

Good ideas, I'm not very familiar with the DCEU but this movies would be far better than the things we got.
