Wi Macdonald Says No To a National Government?

Simple question what if, instead of agreeing to go into coalition with the Tories and the Liberals, Macdonald declines the offer of heading a National Government? I guess this means the Tories form a minority government with Liberal support (or at least Samuelite support)?

What do they do differently to the Natioal Government OTL? When is the election called?

and what are the results?

Actually, MacDonald offered the National Government after he chose to adopt Snowden's policies, against the advice of most of his Cabinet, and Stanley Baldwin had to be convinced by Chamberlain (I forget which brother) to go for it instead of acting as the Opposition.

MacDonald was going to resign as Prime Minister and let a Tory-Liberal Coalition take over if he couldn't get the National Government, he was probably the strongest supporter of it.

I don't think he could even if he wanted to, the king told him to sort it.

MacDonald wanted to resign, at first, and the King said that the Conservatives and Liberals would be all for a National Government when Baldwin was more reluctant to enter the idea.

EdT's Mosley TL, "A Greater Britain", looks at the idea of no NG if you want to see the effects.
