WI: Luzon is either called as Selurong or Suvarnadvipa/Gintu

Is it possible for Luzon to retain it's previous exonym Selurong or Suvarnadvipa/Gintu which was an alternative name for Luzon, is it possible for Luzon to be known in those names instead of the name Luzon as we are now using.

if the Kingdoms of Maynila and Namayan had been more prominent, the Spanish perhaps would have kept the name (in adapted form, of course).

Selurong and Suvarnadvipa were the correct names for Luzon, the name Luzon started as a misnomer for Sulu...basically..

well, the Sultanate WAS the only one of importance to the outside world in those days. and the kingdoms in the north were supplanted by a Bruneian cadet branch.

But if those Kingdoms survived independently especially that of Tondo, they could run to the Mountains and Regroup....just like what happened to the reconquista.

I did that in one of my old timelines.
