WI: Lucius and Gaius Caesar Live

Having just read a biography of Augustus, something came to my attention I wasn't aware of; Agrippa and Julia had 2 sons as named above whom IIRC were more or less being groomed to take over the dynasty once Augustus and Agrippa (whom also tragically died before his time :( ) Both however died young, Lucius of sickness and Gaius in battle IIRC. SO if they live, Tiberius would probably never become Emperor, and neither would any of the other Claudians i don't think. So, what say the learned members?

Gaius

From what ive heard about Gaius Caesar is that he inherited Agrippa's military talent so i believe Rome would be better and Gaius was friends with Germanicus so he would use him as his main general

Yeah I think I read that in the book somewhere as well. Maybe we would have a Roman Empire extending to the Elbe instead of the Rhine/Danube axis OTL as that was more or less Augustus' and Agrippas "Master Plan". maybe it would butterfly away the Battle of Teutoburg Forest, seeing as there would be better military leadership.

THE Elbe would have been a more defensive river then Rhine and to make both Gaius and Lucius live longer u probaly will need Agrippa to live otherwise Tiberus might decide that Rome is his for the taking after Agustus;s death

If Gaius was in charge and not Tiberius, I doubt Germanicus would died when he did, and I don't think you would of had a Caligula come to power. Interesting thought overall.
