It is known that men like Oster and Canaris, as fierce anti-Nazis, have deliberately sabotaged the German war effort and Intelligence service during WWII. The underperformance of the German intelligence services compared to the British ones can be partially explained by it, in many cases giving secret information to the British like the date of the Invasion of Denmark and Norway. Now, suppose that Hitler discovered the treason and instead put the Abwehr under a more loyal and competent leadership (Heydrich ?). How would that affect the German Intelligence in WWII ? Would there be a significant change in the course of the war ? How would that affect the efforts to crack the ENIGMA ?
