WI: Louis XIV had a "Normal" digestive system?

In life Louis XIV had a massive appetite, eatting considerably more then the average person despite his size. After his death, doctors found he had a stomach over twice the size of an average man, and over twice the length of intestine. So let's say he's born with a normal digestive system. How does this change history?

Well in life he had a number of health problems that seem to stem from his diet: Diabetes, gout, dental abscesses, anal fistula...

And he also was the longest reigning European monarch in history and one of France's most succesful. It's hard to see how he could have done better considering his victories against massive odds OTL

Well maybe he would have lived a few years longer? However he was 76 when he died and that way pretty old for the time so he might, might, get another 2 years but that's all I can imagine. And I don't think that having a "normal" digestive system would make him win the Spanish succession war (IE: Spain keeps its European empire).

Or maybe he ends up worse off.

Given the eating style of the day, Louis probably eats like a dumb pig anyway. Maybe not quantity, but certainly quality (or the lack thereof).

Maybe he becomes even more effective? He'll spend less time eating and thus would spend more time developing plans, dictating, etc... as a result. This might only account for a few added minutes per day, but over several decades this would add up to a pretty large amount.

Who says he wasn't planning while eating?

Well, let's account for maybe half of the time he was planning while he was eating. The other half where he wasn't still accounts for a large amount of accumulative time. I refuse to accept that Louis XIV didn't at least leave a little time for himself while he was devouring food?

EDIT: Looking back at this thread and the arguments presented, this is a pretty ridiculous focus for discussion of alternate history. (lmao)

How much time did he really spend devouring food compared to a normal person (in his position)?

Well...let's assume he spends 2 more seconds per meal eating than the average leader. That's 6 seconds a day (assuming 3 full meals a day) he could've spent ruling. Which adds up to about half an hour a year...which adds up to 10 hours over 20 years, cumulatively.

He had a good, long run. Envy the man or woman who manages to indulge their passions to the fullest ( so long as they involve consent and/or things past caring) ;)
