WI: louis the child king of east francia was a healthy and great king

What if Louis the child instead of being sickly was healthy, and a great and super competent king. How does that affect the history of Germany and Europe?

He'd certainly attempt to I think.
A lot of butterflies are going to come from this.
A lot depends how he fights against the Magyars and how divisive his realm now is.

Well let's say he is even better then Charlemagne. And he desivley beats the Magyars by 25. How does the history of Europe go?

Better than Charlemagne seems somewhat ambitious, though in some ways Otto the Great did manage to emulate him, maybe 'Ludwig das Kind' can do the same and become 'Ludwig der Grosse' (not to be confused with the OTL Louis le Grand (Louis XIV of France).

I can see East Francia, Italy and Lotharingia being united in an earlier HRE and restored Carolingian Empire. This link will be harder to be disputed by others (it wasn't in the Empie itself) than the OTL Ottonian restoration.

Burgundy will be a wild card, it could go either way, or even be divided, which case Upper Burgundy is likely to end up with 'East Francia' (and/or succeeding Empire) and Lower Burgundy/Provence might become French. OTOH if the Empire also holds Italy, it might only want to share if they are forced to do so.

So early Holy Roman Empire. Excellent. What was Louis position in east francia at his accession?
