WI: Longer Lasting 2nd French Empire

That's difficult to speculate on. I suppose it depends on if the Franco-Prussian War occurred with the same results, leaving either a decadent and confident France, or a revanchist France. One would build from there.

Without Franco-Prussian war the empire might survive to present day it was far more stable regime then everything that preceded it since the revolution.

Perhaps not as stable as argued.

If I am to believe again a guy like Henri Guillemin, there was some inner politics issues growing, as you know what happened in history at times in such events...

A war is usefull to solve INNER political issues, as a focus of nationalism and to divert attention.

It happened many times in french history, and some movers in the Empire pushed for said war - to attack Prussia - in that motive.,..

I think the effects of having the Second Empire really depend on HOW it survived. Did it beat Prussia? Or did they avoid the War entirely? Or hell did the Coup Napoleon III planned in exile go ahead and restore the Empire? These questions really do need to be answered. But for French politics, I would guess that their would be less infighting and unstableness in the Government with a surviving Empire. For one thing, the executive branch of the government would be strong enough to act as a counterweight to the Prime Minister and the Legislative branch.

My timeline deals with the premise of a Longer Lasting Second French Empire. Even though it has not gone to 1870 yet, it has already seen French intervention in the alt-Austro-Prussian War and saw Prussia removed as a significant threat (thus butterflying away the Franco-Prussian War...at least as we know it.)

Now it is true that the Second Empire is not as stable as one would think, especially late in it's life (between the end of the OTL Austro-Prussian War, and the Franco-Prussian War) but given time (and a little bit of luck, or smart thinking early on) you will be able to achieve a stable government that France had sorely sought after since the fall of the Ancien Regime.
