I was curious if Linda Lingle, who had served as Governor of Hawaii from 2002-2010, and also as the most recent Republican in that post, could potentially compete in national politics.

Could her Senate campaign in 2012 atleast be closer? She polled as being 5 points behind but lost by well over a 30 point margin.
