This is my first WI on this board, so please don't chastise me too much. Here goes:
IOTL, Led Zeppelin's first album, Led Zeppelin I, was released on January 12, 1969. Commercially, it was a success, but it received very bad reviews from critics--Rolling Stone magazine even accused Zeppelin of trying to copy Cream.
My question is this: suppose the album received universally glowing reviews instead. How would it affect Led Zeppelin's success as a band? Would they have been any bigger than OTL? Would they have lasted any longer? Would John Bonham have lived?
Okay, maybe that last one is wishful thinking, but I'm just trying to get into the discussion on this board. I'd appreciate any input you guys have!
