WI: LeBron James goes to the Lakers in 2010?

Yes, LeBron and Kobe on the same team (and Gasol and Bynum, before his downward spiral). How many championships do they win (if any?) and how long does this seemingly unstoppable big two stay together? Who else can join this "super-team" (I can easily see Steve Nash coming here to complete their lineup, and possibly even Yao Ming forgoing retirement to play in LA for cheap at a chance of winning a ring when he hit free agency in 2011)? Also how does this POD effect other teams, such as the Bulls (I can see them becoming the team to beat in the East without LeBron going to the Heat).

As many problems as clashing personalities Shaq and Kobe had - and now LeBron and Kevin Love in Cleveland - the Lakers will probably do worse overall than LeBron did with the Heat.

First thing's first - Shaq and Kobe hated each other, and LeBron and K-Love don't get along. A lot of that is that LeBron is big on everyone being on the same page. Kobe, by contrast, is a bullheaded introvert, and he and LeBron won't last long.

Second, they're not winning a damn thing in 2011 what with the Mavs rolling both LeBron and the Lakers. That was something of a team of destiny. Strike one.

If they get a title, it's coming in 2012 before the Spurs figure things out. They're not beating the Spurs in both 2013 and 2014, and they may lose both. And with trouble brewing when LeBron comes up to exercise his out clause in 2014, he's sure as shoot not sticking around.

LeBron to the Lakers is a great idea until you try to work out all the personalities.
