Zhdanov if Stalin didn’t imprison him in 1948So who would be the best choice for Stalin's successor?
I'd go with Malenkov, personally. So who would be the best choice for Stalin's successor?
Otl answered it for us...KhrushevSo who would be the best choice for Stalin's successor?
Khrushchev only got where he was because Stalin liked him and because he was smart enough to sway everyone over. By 1945, Khrushchev assuming Stalin dies around December, simply doesn't have the influence to get into a position of power. He was only put into a position where he could get power by Stalin himself in 1949, when he was recalled to Moscow and given increasing control over the Politburo as Stalin began to age and cede more and more control over the country.Otl answered it for us...Khrushev
