WI: Kraterus wins Battle of the Hellespont

Kraterus was one of Alexander's best generals, and probably the single most beloved (by his friends) and feared (by his enemies) general by the time of Alexander's death. His prestige was such that his opponents during the Diadochi wars knew their Macedonian troops would defect upon knowing they were up against Kraterus in battle. Think Hellenistic Jim Mattis if you will.

However his career was cut short at the age of 49 when he was defeated and killed by a Greek scribe recently turned general Eumenes. It was suppose to be a walkover for Kraterus but Eumenes won by some combination of cunning and very good luck. The two apparently were friends and wept together as Kraterus lay dying. With him died one of the few men who had the authority to rule over the whole of Alexander's empire.

What if Kraterus won as he was suppose to? Eumenes is either killed or consigned to oblivion as an "obvious" inept commander. How does the rest of the war of successors turn out? Would he make himself a king or become guardian of Alexander IV and/or Philip III?
