WI: King Victor Emmanuel III doesn't end martial law

Okay, so during the March on Rome the King was debating what to do as fascist squads decended on the city. After uming and aring for a significant ammount of time he declared martial law and ordered troops to oppose the fascists, later on in the night he decided that was a foolish decision and repealed the martial law - effectively a vote of no confidence in the current PM Luigi Facta.

Many historians have claimed the strength of the fascists was exagerated and that the military could have put down the coup, in fact even Mussolini had contingency plans to flee to Switzerland should the plan not come off.

So WI King Victor Emmanuel III doesn't end martial law

I am afraid that it would not amount to much.
the reals point was not the strenght (or lack) of fascists, but the fact that the people were exasperated by 2-months-long government, uncapable to cope with economic problems and tu assure civil order.
The situation was ripe for a revolution or a golpe: if the king would not support it , he would be deposed himself.
Maye not by fascists, maybe by other groups, rightist or leftist is not so important, but another revolt was going to occurr in a month's time.
Don't mistake my words: I personally despise fascism and my relatives had a lot of problem with the regime, but at the time was accepted with some relief by a lot of people, since it assured stability and social order after a long turmoil period
